Our Artists' Watercolor Brushes come in a variety of sizes to suit all of your needs. They will allow you to try out a variety of watercoloring techniques, from background washes to fine detail work. These elegant and beautiful brushes feature synthetic squirrel/sable hair and black birch wood handles accented by a black metal ferrule.

This set includes four round brushes in sizes 1, 2, 3, and 4, and a size 18 flat brush. The brushes come in a specially designed black cloth container to encase the brushes safely and elegantly in your art supply collection.

These brushes make painting feel like you are using a pencil. The detail you can achieve is amazing. I definitely need the whole set.

Disappointed

I was excited to try these brushes from Altenew with my new watercolor from Altenew. I wanted to love these but I have to be completely honest these brushes are horrible. They shed all over the moment you get them wet and with Altenew's horrible return policy there is no returning them. There are better brushes in this price range from other retailers. I was not expecting a professional watercolor brush, but I was expecting a little bit better quality then this from Altenew. So disappointed. I will say the brushes do seem to hold their shape and hold the water well. However, due to them constantly losing their bristles I have not been able to use them like I'd like because I keep needing to pick brush hairs off of my paper and that gets extremely annoying. I would save your money and buy your brushes elsewhere. Just my opinion. Disappointing though because I do love Altenew.
