Acrylic markers and color sheets

I watched Jennifer McGuire’s demo on this product and immediately ordered it. The colors are beautiful and vibrant but hard to color within the lines of the color by number set. I was disappointed with the results but will give it another try. I did , however, used them on black paper with a stencil as Jennifer demonstrated on her YouTube channel. I loved the results.

Love the colors and the images of the flowers

I was so excited to see these markers (as presented by Jennifer McGuire on her channel) so I ordered the bundle of paint by number images and markers. I like the markers, they color very smoothly and the colors are great, HOWEVER.... the marker nibs are way too big! It is very difficult to color the paint by number cards with such big nibs. The nibs are good for the bigger spaces, but small spaces is next to impossible to color in (even with the lightest hand). I use copic markers on a regular basis. The brush nib on a copic marker is perfect to get into the smaller areas. I don't know how a brush nib would react to an acrylic paint marker, but it is worth a try. I know of some water color markers that work well with the brush tip so I would think it could work with the acrylic markers as well. I think our pictures would come out looking fabulous!

Acrylic markers

I love this new set of acrylic markers. Very absorbent and lends a matte finish to my project. I also like the color-by-number sheets. It is a nice way to make a beautiful card front. I do hope Altenew adds another set.

Not impressed

I was so excited to get these markers after seeing a demonstration on YouTube. I knew she was extremely good at coloring, in general, and knew there would be a learning curve. I got the set with the color-by-number samples to practice on. If you are going to color images with large areas, then these are nice markers. However, using the samples I bought with this kit, it was not so pretty. Yes, learning curve. But, with the size tip on these markers it was nearly impossible to 'stay within the lines', literally. The nice black outlines were no longer visible, for the most part. What they have going for them are the colors; beautiful, vibrant and I loved them. They also go on very smoothly. I will continue to practice using these and hope I will be able to use them on cards and such. If the tips were 'slightly' smaller, then perfection would be closer to my future in using them. At least I would be able to stay within the lines. I don't mean fine-tipped, just ever-so-slightly smaller. I think there is great potential in using them and hope my attempts will improve.
